Engineering inclusive digital experiences.

Ideary Works is a Pasadena-based digital accessibility and web development studio. We combine 28 years of web experience, and practical WCAG expertise to build websites that are easier to use, easier to maintain, and ready for more people.

The story behind Ideary Works

Ideary Works was founded by Michael Mees after nearly three decades in professional web development. After moving from Germany to Southern California, Michael saw a growing problem: many businesses were being sold quick accessibility fixes that looked reassuring but did not address the code, structure, or user experience behind the website.

Ideary Works was created to offer a more reliable path: manual testing, practical remediation, accessible WordPress development, and clear guidance that business owners can actually understand.

The Meaning of Our Name: We believe digital success requires two halves to make a whole.

“ideary”

represents the thinking: strategy, audits, planning, and clear technical direction.

“works”

represents the execution: clean code, careful testing, practical fixes, and websites that support real business goals.

“Clear ideas. Precise execution. Websites that work for more people.”

Why we do what we do

Accessibility is not just a legal requirement. It is part of how people discover, understand, and trust your business online.

When a website is difficult to navigate with a keyboard, unclear to screen readers, or poorly structured behind the scenes, visitors are excluded and business opportunities are lost. We help companies fix those barriers at the source, so their websites become more usable, more resilient, and more trustworthy.

The 4 Pillars of our methodology

Accessibility is not a one-time project. It is an ongoing lifecycle. Our four-pillar framework helps businesses understand where they stand, fix what matters, launch stronger websites, and keep accessibility from drifting over time.

Evaluate & audit

The what:
Deep-dive, manual accessibility audits using screen readers and keyboard testing.

The why:
Automated tools are useful, but they cannot fully judge real user experience. We combine scanning, manual review, keyboard testing, and screen-reader checks to find barriers that automated reports often miss.

Wrench and screwdriver crossed

Engineer & remediate

The what:
Fixing your existing website by repairing the core HTML, navigation, and templates.

The why:
Overlay plugins rarely solve the underlying problem. We repair accessibility barriers in the website’s structure, templates, navigation, forms, and content so the experience improves at the source.

Stylized rocket ship launching

Build & launch

The what:
Designing and developing brand-new, ADA-ready Custom WordPress websites.

The why:
Sometimes it's better to start fresh. We bake inclusion and technical SEO into the DNA of your new site from day one.

Protect & maintain

The what:
Ongoing Care & Compliance plans, including technical WordPress maintenance and Termly Pro+ legal documentation.

The why:
Websites change. Plugins update, content gets added, privacy expectations evolve, and new barriers can appear over time. Ongoing maintenance helps catch issues early and keeps your website more reliable.

A personal note from the founder

Hi, I’m Michael, founder of Ideary Works LLC.

I brought 28 years of professional web experience from Germany to Pasadena with one clear belief: “good websites should be built carefully, transparently, and with long-term responsibility”.

I started Ideary Works because too many businesses are told that accessibility can be solved with a quick widget or a simple badge. In reality, accessibility depends on structure, code quality, content, navigation, forms, and continuous care.

My approach is practical and code-first. I listen first, identify the most important barriers, map out realistic next steps, and help you improve your website in a way that supports both your visitors and your business.

Sincerely,

Michaels black signature with bold lines and a flowing, calligraphic style.
